Dr. Celeste Curley, Interim Executive Director
Celeste served on the Board of Directors of Golden Cradle Adoption Services for five years and served as President for three of those years. In her professional life, as a special needs administrator, Celeste worked with other professionals to provide appropriate educational programming for students, many of which were adopted.
Dr. Curley has been married for 47 years and has an interracial family. Her two adult daughters were adopted within months of their birth. Professionally and personally adoption has been a meaningful part of Celeste’s life. She has a thorough understanding of the supports that are necessary to enable a successful adoption.
Desiree Huffnagle MSW, LSW Supervisor of Social Work
Desiree received her Masters of Social Work degree from Rutgers University in 2001. Desiree has a wide ranging perspective on adoption derived from her varied experience within the field. She has worked for a nonprofit behavioral health agency and assisted new foster parents with the transitions of children being placed in their home. She has provided pre-adoptive training and completed home studies for potential foster and adoptive parents throughout New Jersey. She has provided counseling to families during the adoption process.
Desiree has both professional and personal connections with adoption. Her older son’s adoption was completed through the state of New Jersey. Her younger son’s adoption was international through the country of Guatemala. Her unique combination of personal and professional experience gives her the added insight into the important and delicate relationship between both sets of parents before, during, and after the adoption.
Marci Decosmo, MSW Adoption Specialist
Marci received her Masters of Social Work degree from Temple University in 1993. Prior to working at Golden Cradle, Marci taught special needs students as well as providing social work support for them. Marci has been working with families seeking international and domestic adoptions at Golden Cradle since 2015. Her priority has been to help families complete the home study process as easily as possible. Using Marci’s research and case management skills, each family assigned to her experiences an efficient process that supports them effectively through the steps of adoption. Marci continues her able support to families after placement as she provides post adoption visits and reports which are an integral part of the adoption process for both international and domestic placements.
Denise Koetas-Dale, CSW Adoption Specialist
Denise graduated from the Rutgers University with a Bachelor’s in Social Work. She has over thirty years of experience in the child welfare and adoption services fields providing intensive services to both the birth and foster families to develop a plan for reunification or adoption. Denise has also provided home study and post-placement services for families adopting both internationally and domestically.
Denise has also provided pre-adoptive education to families and is the current coordinator of the Adoption Agency Counsel of New Jersey. As an experience adoption professional, Denise is knowledgeable in all aspects of the adoption triad and understands the delicate nature of the relationship of all parents before, during and in the years following adoption.
Kristi Zanghi, Adoption Specialist
Kristi graduated from Fordham University with her Masters in Social Work in 2015.. For two years, she worked in a group home for adults with severe, persistent mental illness. Over the last year she worked as a therapist providing counseling and support to children and their families. Though new to the field of adoption, Kristi’s personal and professional experiences have given her extensive knowledge on the adoption process. Her therapeutic background has strengthened her ability to work with compassion and has given her an understanding of the emotional process of grief and loss.
Tanya Boswell, Accounting Specialist
Tanya came to Golden Cradle in 2017 and in her short tenure has initiated positive change and system upgrades to the agency. Tanya efficiently and effectively manages our financial accounts and works with our vendors to insure a positive business environment. Tanya’s positive, enthusiastic manner keep “all systems running” at Golden Cradle.
Allison Bach, Office Assistant
Allison recently graduated from Rutgers-University – Camden and will start a Master of Social Work program at Rutgers-University – New Brunswick in the fall. As an international adoptee from China, Allison has always had an interest in adoption and child welfare and is excited to begin her social work journey.
